This house sits in an idyllic setting three hours south of Sydney right on the beach but it’s a nightmare for the garden ... there is no soil, just sand.
Modest internal entertaining areas mean that a large area of paving will sit close to the house and external shower. This will be used for entertaining and relaxing, as its east facing, it’s perfect for a morning sun drenched breakfast and shaded from the sun by the house in the evening. A large rustic metal artwork and troughs of succulents set into the paving break up the expanse of paving.
Being a large area both a dining and built in lounge area will create a space that can be used for all occasions. Decking platforms will cascade through the sand to a main lower deck used for relaxing (the four posters house brackets for hammocks) and doubling up as a stage for the kids to play on. Boulders and pebbles are being lifted in to create a flowing dry river bed to the beach and softened with hardy maintenance free planting to finish the beach side theme.
